Bonjour ,
Language is power, life and the instrument of domination and liberation says Angela Carter.
She was a British novelist , born in 1940. She suffered from anorexia for the majority of her teenage years. She obtain a degree in English literature.
Language as a key to identity
The document is a video from 2014 about Accentism in the United Kingdom.
First accentism is a kind of classicism. They class people in some categories and depended on they accent. The way they speak which is be an indicator on they origins.
People with a strong accent face discrimination. It may be a handicap when they look for a job. As a consequence, some of them try to change them original accent as recruiters, may think.
In the video we can ear Caroline who comes from Haddershfield in Yorkshire. She decided to change her accent because of her Posh accent which currently means to become from the up er-class.
But in London, she feels like she has lost her identity, her values.
We can point that “accentism” is like “sexism” or “racism”, it's a form of segregation.
Accentism means “ you're discriminated against and rejected because of your regional accent”.
In my opinion, people haven't stoop to other people level because of their accent, their way of speaking. They just have to be proud of their origins and don't disown it.
The link between this document and the notion is that accentism is a form of power because he represents diversity, life because he represents the origins of one person and an instrument of domination because they are discrimination between accent and some of them are put down according to each region.
Know, I will talk about
Language as a way of communication
description: The document is a picture with two men characters. To the left, the man wear a suits, he looks in a rush. The other man wear a djellaba and seems don't understand the situation. Both his arms are curve. The two men characters seem to be in a mosque. They are two different picture: above the first picture, we cans read “ English” and the man says “ Would you please be so kind as to point me in the direction of the premises where I will find some relief ? “ and above the second picture it is written “ Globish” and the same man says “ Toilets, please ”.
First, Globish is a language with short sentence, simple words and body language.
The author makes us think with a funny picture that the language barriers is something difficult because we can't ask what we want, as the man characters, we can't really talk if people don't understand what we are talking about. So, the communication is cut. In that way, we see that language is an important issuance if we succeed communicate with the same language.
In my point of view, language is important to communicate with people from different country, to make new relationship and globish maybe can be more easier to understand each other.
The link between this document and the notion or problematic is that the form of liberation take place exactly when we find a way to communicate. Language is powerful because he can stop the link between two people or help people to discover each other, as a power of life.
Merci d'avance pour vos réponses.

Hello!
Language is power, life and the instrument of domination and liberation says Angela Carter.
She was a British novelist , born in 1940. She suffered from anorexia for the majority of her teenage years. She obtain= past tense a degree in English literature.
Language as a key to identity
The document is a video from 2014 about Accentism in the United Kingdom.
First accentism is a kind of classicism. They classIFY people in some categories and depended on they accents. The way they speak which is be an indicator on they origins.
People with a strong accent face discrimination. It may be a handicap when they look for a job. As a consequence, some of them try to change them original accent as into one that recruiters, may think appreciate.
In the video we can ear(that's the noun ... you want a verb!) Caroline who comes from Haddershfield in Yorkshire. She decided to change her accent because of her Posh accent which currently means to become from the upPer-class.
But in London, she feels like she has lost her identity, her values.
We can point that “accentism” is like “sexism” or “racism”, it's a form of segregation (or rather a form of discrimination!) .
Accentism means “ you're discriminated against and rejected because of your regional accent”. YES!
In my opinion, people haven't stoop(I think that here, you want to express an "absence of obligation".) to other people level because of their accent, their way of speaking. They just have to be proud of their origins and don't disown it.
The link between this document and the notion is that accentism is a form of power because he represents diversity, life because he represents the origins of one person and an instrument of domination because they are discrimination between accentS and some of them are put down according to each region.

First, Globish is a language with short sentence, simple words and body language.
2=The author makes us think /1(with a funny picture)order of the clauses) that the language barriers is something difficult because we can't ask what we want, as the man characters, we can't really talk if people don't understand what we are talking about. So, the communication is cut. In that way, we see that language is an important issuance (an issue or an issuance?) if we succeed XX communicate with the same language.
The problem is that "globish" isn't a proper language... but often gibberish!
