Oral/Mythes et héros
Message de nanaiss posté le 13-03-2016 à 10:42:44 (S | E | F)
Bonjour !
je passe mon oral blanc très bientôt et je voulais savoir si je ne fais pas d'erreurs de syntaxe, d'orthographe ou si mes formulations de phrases sont correctes.
Merci d'avance !

I am going to talk about Myths and Heroes. First of all I would like to give a definition of this notion. A myth is a story that may or may not be true. Mythology includes the legends of our history, religions, stories, or how the World was created, and our heroes. A hero can be a legendary figure, but he can also be a person admired for his courage, his achievements and nobles qualities. In my opinion, the immigrants’s life and their passage at Ellis Island correspond with Myth and Heroes’s notion. We can wonder to what extend could immigrants be heroes for their country. First, we will talk about the journey of legal immigrants, at last we will see how illegal immigrants fight for their life.

We’ve seen several documents about immigration. The first document I have chosen is « A boy’s journey », an autobiography wrote by Seymour Rechtzeit. The story deals with the Seymour’s childhood. The scene takes place in Poland. Seymour was a singer, and his family decide that we had to go to US in order to have a better carrier. Seymou did the trip with his father and the rest of his family stayed in Poland. But when they arrived to Ellis Island, Seymour had to stay here for a long time because he was ill. Seymour was only a child, he was 8 y-o, and he had to be very courageous. Seymour was a hope for his family to have a better life in America, thanks to his carrier.
Seymour and his father are an exemple of legal immigration, but there is illegal immigration too, which is harder to live than legal immigration.

The second document I have chosen is « My friends, the illegal immigrants », published in the Financial Times. It deals with the Estrada brothers, they’re mexican peasants, who don’t know how to read or write, and with a very modest income. The narrator describe the Estradas like some of the best people he ever met, according to him they are generous and joyful. He also talk about a women, Rosa, who is a very couragous person. In fact, despite the risks of a long prison sentece, she tried to go to US. She doesn’t care about the risks, because she absolutely wants a better life, she fight for her future.

The third document is a short film directed by JR, a french artist who paste photographs of many immigrants who passed througt Ellis Island. On the roof, on the windows, on the wall, on the floor,… There was immigrants’s pictures everywhere in the Ellis’s abandoned hospital. In this movie, we discover the place with the actor Robert De Niro. This movie show how many people passed throught this Island, how many people had the courage to leave their country to have a better life, and how many people was a hope for their families and their country.

The all three documents make us realize that it doesn’t matter if they are legal or illegal immigrants, they’re all passed througt Ellis Island, and they’re all very courageous people who risked their life for them and their family. They’re are humans, they know the fear, the sadness, the doubt, but they got the better of their fears to leave all they knowed in order to have an opportunity of a better future. That’s why, in my opinion, the immigrants can be considered like heroes, they’re are courageous and they’re admired by their families, and their country.

Bonjour,
- In my opinion, (formulation que l'on ne s'attend pas à voir dans une introduction) the immigrants’s (enlever le "s après l'apostrophe)life and their passage at Ellis Island correspond with Myth and Heroes’s notion.
- We can wonder to what extend could immigrants be heroes for their country: interrogation indirecte : SUJET + VERBE CONJUGUE.
- First, we will talk about the journey of legal immigrants, at last (remplacer par "second" car il n'y a que 2 parties)we will see how illegal immigrants fight for their life.

- an autobiography wrote by Seymour Rechtzeit: participe passé.
- The story deals with the (pas d'article)Seymour’s childhood.
- Seymour was a singer, and his family decide (temps) that we (sujet) had to go to US in order to have a better carrier (orthographe). -
- But when they arrived to (pas la bonne préposition)Ellis Island, Seymour had to stay here (HERE ne s'emploie pas au passé)for a long time because he was ill.
- carrier.

- It deals with the Estrada brothers, they’re mexican (majuscule) peasants,
- The narrator describe (conjugaison) the Estradas like some of the best people he ever met (present perfect)
- He also talk (conjugaison) about a women (A + SINGULIER)
- sentece,
- she fight for her future: conjugaison.

- a french (majuscule)artist who paste (conjugaison) photographs of many immigrants who passed througt (orthographe)Ellis Island.
- There was immigrants’s pictures: THERE WAS + SINGULIER
- This movie show (conjugaison)how many people passed throught (orthographe)this Island,
- and how many people was a hope for their families and their country: ?

- they’re all passed (temps?)througt (orthographe) Ellis Island,
- the better (superlatif)of their fears to leave all they knowed (verbe irrégulier)

laure95 par contre pour "get the better of" j'ai vu ça sur word reference disant que ça voulait dire "surmonter", il faut quand même que je mette ça au superlatif ?
