Bon dimanche !
The notion "Spaces and exchanges" deals with the geographical and symbolic areas that all societies occupy and the interactions between men and different societies. Our world is built on the exploration and conquest of new spaces. The different cultural, economic, sociological and language interactions have shaped and characterised our modern-day world. Why there are many people immigrate ? and how takes places the integration ? Firstly i am going to speak of the immigration to the United States and the difficulties encountered.
I- The american dream
Since thousands of years foreign peoples leave their countries for travel or settle en other countrys. In class we have studied The pilligrims faters, in BBC article and Channel Vidéo. I discovered that the pilligrims faters in great britain they were persecuted beaucause they were protestant. In nineteen-twenty, they have then left their country for to live on the american continent. Over there The pilgrims father we encountered difficulties but they managed to save their community. Gradually The united states are enriched and became great power. It is born the american dream. We listened a sing « American land », who tells the story of a man who wrote to his wife his future life in United states and coming in Ellis island. In an extract of a book we can see this story is about a Little mexican to remember arrival in United states. He was able to discover and live the american dream. He and her familly had better life.
II – The difficulties they encounter
Even if immigrated was beneficial for them but they still met difficulties. For exemple The pilgrims fathers when they arrived had difficulty of adaptations. Fristly the climate in great britain and in the united states is not the same. They suffered from the cold and hunger. Indeed on american soil does not cultivate as in england futhermore there was indians which wanted the attacked. Luckily other indians helped them enven it they did not have the same language and culture as it is seen in Channel vidéo. The little mexican was not also accostumed the american culture. In a recent Obama speech, he explains that planned to set up a program in order to facilite the integration of the immigrats for (les latinos américan). Indeed they do not find always of the work with the language barrier. However in other document, i have seen that the united states wanr to narrow the entrance of foreigners.
Conclusion :
To end we can say that mainly the populations immigrates for reasons of survival. The United States became a very powerful country where the américan dream makes dream. Even if the integration is not always easy.
