Understanding/ problem
Message from jiashaoru posted on 01-08-2015 at 01:40:32 (D | E | F)
Hello,
I'm an English learner from China. I'm working on my translation homework right now, and I met some problems.
Please help me with this
I had difficulty in understanding this word: why say "the Neolithic period" is "an ancient inter-animation of the human and the wild"? what is the meaning of "inter-animation"here?
And another question is: "Dense wood is no good to crows, they are creatures of mixed cover and openness", what's this sentence meaning?

Thanks for anyone who would like to help me
Regards.

Hi,
As regards Neolithic you can find answers on the Internet. xxx
As regards your second question, I'd interpret it as follows: crows are birds that do not like living in the dark and as woods are supposed to be very thick , crows prefer more light and open spaces.
Hope this will help .
Bye bye

Hello,
Inter-animation means liveliness or high spirit.

Hello
mutual animation ⇒ "the idea of interanimation between body and soul"
Dense wood is no good to crows, they are creatures of mixed cover and openness" => Maybe it means that some creatures like crows, which have two sides, they want to hide, but they also like the openess, a dense wood is not so proper environment, because it helps only the one side of character (the closed one).
