Bonjour,
serait-il possible que quelqu'un vérifie si mon texte ne comporte pas de fautes sur la notion Mythes et héros ?
ce serait vraiment sympa, merci d'avance.
A myth is a story which tell the hero’s adventures with or without a determinable basis or fact. A hero is a man distinguishable by his courage or ability, admired for his quality. Hero can be an imagination or a reality. These words are often used when we described the American culture and story because it was made by myths and heroes.
Quelles sont les mythes et les représentations faites des Etats Unis ,
To begin with it is a well-known fact that the US are a model of culture since the end of World War 2. The United States is the country of success, most of the US’s representations show it. They are multiples, Elvis Presley for the music, John Wayne for the Western, Neil Armstrong for the famous scientist, the empire state Building and the statue of liberty for the famous monuments… These figures are famous, rich and recognized, they give the idea that the US are the most advanced country of the world. That’s why we speak easily of myth to describe US.
Secondly the US is traditionally seen like the country of human rights by foreigners. On the one hand US represents heroism, in his history, settlers have killed a lot of Native Amerindians to conquer the Far West. Americans also fought bravely for their right during the American Civil War. On the other hand some heroes are fought peacefully to evolve the consciences. During the segregation, MLK was an icon of protestation and his dead has sanctified him. Now he was become an example for the antiracism struggle.
Furthermore the US is the empire of cinema, American people found Hollywood, one of the first world’s film studio. For instance the film “Stagecoach” with John Wayne has received worldwide success. In the eighties, blockbusters celebrated the American heroism, ordinary Americans were snatched of their common life to become saviors, like we can watch it in the film Rambo, Rocky or Terminator. Similarly, the musical industry explodes. The appearance of new style like jazz, reggae or blues with charismatic singers are exported all around the world. Indeed thanks to their big enterprise like Coca Cola American people have spread their way of life across the world. This fast emergence of powerful and wealth in the US is the foundation of American Dream, in a nutshell the self-made man, the idea that all people can success if they work hard, it’s the contemporary hero. Nowadays there is more difficulties to realize the American Dream than before, even if it’s always a wish. The American economy stays powerful, however it is the gap between the poor wages and rich wages which is increasing, and it breaks apart the American Dream which became a myth.
Thanks to his colonial Empire and his TNF, US spreads the American way of life and his products. From the nineteen’s century, they implanted corporations all over the American continent like the United Fruits. Thanks to the Philippines they can be open up on Asia. Actually, it is the series which share out the American dream on the world. They are representatives of the American society, Desesperates Housewives symbolize the relationship between the neighborhood’s.
The American dream is attractive and lot of migrants, legal or illegal, take their chance in US to success. For example Arnold Schwarzenegger has grown up in a strict and poor Austrian family but he wanted become bodybuilder and after a hard work he won some competition that allowed him to settle in America. On the up and up he became actor where he knew a famous success. Even if the American dream is much difficult than before, it allowed for them who work hard to fulfill their dream. That’s why the American way of life stay very influential into the world.
To conclude we must admit that the US are the most popular country in the world. It is too the most attractive since the American culture was spread around the world especially after the end of cold War. The myth of the American dream stay active even if it became imaginary, it seems that every person searching prosperity could have it if he works hard. I wonder whether one day a country could overstep the American soft power, indeed the American culture is actually the unique which is “international”.
