Bonjour,
je passe mon oral bientôt, et je voulais avoir quelques avis sur ma notion Mythes et Héros.
Merci d'avance pour vos réponses.
To define what is a myth, I would say that it is the story which tells the story of a hero. A hero is a character who embodies values as the honor, the service, the fame and a moral qualities.
According to me, we can qualify the first slaves blacks of hero. These People are fought all their life for the freedom and they obtained the freedom centuries later. They embodied values deserving of hero such as the courage, the endurance and the tenacity. I think if the United States are a free country it is thanks to them, but also thanks to people like Rosa Parks who opposed in Jim Craw Laws.
These laws which established one of the main elements of the racial segregation in the United States was abolishes thanks to Rosa Parks. This woman who refused to give her place of bus for one person white was the first act in favour of the equality between whites and blacks. Accompanied with Martin Luther King who was a former pastor, they fought all their life for the equality of races. Finally it is in 1964 when Lyndon Baines Jonhson, the current president, signed the Civilian Rights Act which abolished the segregation in the United States.
There is also an other hero as the ambitious men like Rockfeller, Carnegie or still Bill Gates who embody the American dream. These heroes start with nothing and succeed by their motivation and ambition. They come from families poor but they climb the social ladder. Now these heroes are bussiness man even today recognized all over the world.
In conclusion, the notion of hero can match to people political as Martin Luther King or businessman like Rockfeller or Bill Gates. These people marked their time and shall remain for ever heroes.
