Bonjour tout le monde,
J'ai un exercice assez difficile à faire pour la Fac. J'ai essayé de le faire. Pouvez-vous me dire si je me trompe s'il vous plaît?
Déterminer la nature(N) et la fonction(F) des éléments soulignés grâce à des manipulations(M) ou des observations.
Quand je n'ai rien écrit après M c'est que je ne savais pas quelle était la manipulation à faire.
Merci beaucoup de votre aide d'avance.
Bonne nuit.

Hello; it's really not clear what you're supposed to do for these exercises. But I can give you some explanation of the colored words.
1. "do what I would" is similar to "try as I might"
2. "would" is used here in its archaic sense: "would like" (+ "that" + subjunctive, as in French)
3. I think "hangings" refers to the light curtains hanging down from a bed with a "roof" (such as a princess's bed), but I'm not sure.
4. regarding = about, concerning
5. correct, for = because, as, since
6. "Men ... for" makes no sense, sorry.
7. The sound came from down below ("down" is superfluous), as if wolves were howling in the valley.
8. "had done" isn't correct here. It should either say "was done" or "had finished", or include an object (e.g. "had done my homework").
9. correct, "one" replaces a noun (the noun must be preceded by "a" or "an")
10. correct, "after" is a preposition, relating two events in time
11. "for" is a preposition; although it modifies the meaning of the verb, it is not a particle (you can't "look something for")
12. so = therefore, thus, hence
13. correct, "except" is a preposition (which excludes particular cases from a general rule)
Hope this helps.
See you.
