Bonjour/Bonsoir
Je dois préparer une notion en anglais, et nous allons bientôt être interrogé dessus. J'aimerais savoir si vous pouviez m'aider à trouver les erreurs de grammaire, conjugaison, orthographe ou autre.
Merci d'avance
I'm going to talk about the notion “Locations and forms of power”. The power is the strenght or force exerted, or capable of being exerted ; might. The place of the women seems to have evolved. However, there still exists many inequalities between men and women, and the equality is not completely acquired.
To what extent can we say that Gender Gap still exist in our society ?
Firstly, we will see that the women are considered as lower, then we will talk about inequalities in the access to work and finally, we will see the inequalities in wages.
Firstly, the document “Are we equal ?” talks about the inequalities between men and women. We observe that the women are considered as lower, in many fields. Indeed, according to the document, the women are more exposed to domestic violences, and sexual violences. Moreover, the women are more touched by unemployment, and lose more easily their job, in particular because of a pregnancy. Lastly, in many trades like politic, industry, or building, the proportion of women is very weak. This document shows that Gender Gap always exist, because women lives in a male-dominated society who often exert their power on them. Besides all these inequalities, the women are also victims of inequalities in the access to work.
Secondly, the document is an audio report wich deals of inequalities to access to work between men and women. We observe that the women have less opportunities of employment, and big disparities exists. There are few women in corporate boards. Moreover, they have 20 % of chances in less, in front of men being engaged, for the same job. In spite of attempts, the European Union doesn't impose quotas on the proportion of women in corporate boards, in particulier because of Germany, where misses childcares, and want to force the women to stay at home, to care for their childrens. This document shows that exist disparities in the access to work, and the Gender Gap still exists. Moreover, the power of men seems more important because they are privileged in the job search. However, the men are also pivileged concerning the wages.
Thirdly, the document is an audio report which deals of disparities of wages between men and women. Although their number continue to increase, the women earn only 80 % of the wages of men. Indeed, for the same employment, the men earn more than women : a man earn 20 % more than woman, with the same diplomas. This gap reaches even 30 % for the graduate people. That depends on the choice of women, who sometimes work in a sector less remunerated, like the nurses. Moreover, the pregnancy allows also this disparity of wages, beacause women work often in part-time after pregnancy. Even if the crisis have reduced this disparity, because of a reduction in the wages of men better paid, this gap stay nevertheless very important. This document shows that the Gender Gap still didn't disappear, in particular in the inequality of the wages. The women are always considered inferior than men, and earn less than them : that shows the power of a male-dominated society.
To conclude, in our society, the power of women seems weak. Indeed, they are often victims of violence, and are very few in some sectors, like the politic. Moreover, the disparities in the access to work is very important, because many companies prefer to engage a man, rather than a woman, for a job. Lastly, the women earn also less than men, for the same job. Thus, the way is still long, so that the women can have the same power as the men, and to be on an equal footing.
However, the Gap seems to be reduced, and the women acquire more power. The society change, and the domination to men will probably disappear, for a society with more equality, where men and women have the same rights.
