Présent +ing /simple

Bonsoir,
Dans "Tom's diner", la chanson de Suzanne Vega, il y a du présent be+ing = ce sont des actions qui sont en train de se dérouler au moment où elle parle et il y a également du présent simple. Comment expliquer que les deux présents soient utilisés en même temps?
Je dirais qu'il s'agit du présent de narration, des actions qui se suivent dans un récit (pour les verbes fill, argue, pour, open up, raise...) et du présent simple qui se trouve dans du discours indirect libre (c'est comme si elle parlait) (see). Ai-je tort?

Hello.
In general, we use the present continuous to talk about events which are going on right now, are currently true, (but not always true), and present plans for the near future. The present simple is used to talk about events which are habits, permanent, or always true.
Compare the following:
I am sitting in the morning vs. Every morning I sit
At the diner on the corner
I am waiting at the counter vs. I always wait at the counter
For the man to pour the coffee vs. the man is pouring my coffee right now.
