Message de marielh posté le 02-02-2014 à 17:15:19 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,

Pourriez-vous m'aider à corriger cette essai sur la vie de Mandela, s'il vous plaît ?
Qu'en pensez-vous ?
Merci pour vos réponses.

Rolihlahla Mandela was born in Transkei, South Africa on 18 July 1918. He was given the name of Nelson by one of his teachers, in accordance with the custom to give all school children “Christian” names. His father was a respected advisor to the Thembu royal family. Unfortunately the latter died when mandela was 12 years old so that he was under the care of the regent of the tribe. He studied law at the University of Fort Hare and later at the University of Witwatersrand.
Nelson Mandela, while increasingly politically involved, joined the African National Congress (a multi-racial nationalist movement trying to bring about political change in South Africa) in 1944 and formed the ANC Youth League. The same years, he married with Evelyn Mase. They had two sons and two daughters.
When the National Party came to power and began to implement a policy of apartheid (1948), Mandela directed a campaign of peaceful, nonviolent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies.
By the late 1950s, he opened the first low office with black lawyer
In 1958, after his divorce with Evelyn Mase, Mandela married with Winnie. They had two daughters.
In March 1960, Mandela and his colleagues in the Treason Trial were among thousands detained during the state of emergency, which result from the slaughter of 69 black anti-apartheid demonstrators by police at Sharpeville. This led to the banning of the ANC. Because its policy of non-violence was not enough efficient, Mandela helped establish the ANC's military wing 'The Spear of the Nation'. Then Mandela travelled abroad to receive military training and to find support for the ANC.
On his return he was arrested and sentenced first to five years in prison and then to life imprisonment for plotting to overthrow the government by violence. He was held in Robben Island prison, and later in Pollsmoor Prison. During his years in prison, he became an international symbol of resistance to apartheid.
In 1990, responding to internal and international pressure (for instance the NATO punish the apartheid policy in 1962), the South African government released Mandela and lifted the ban against the ANC. In 1991 Mandela became the ANC's leader and two years later not only did he win the Nobel Peace Prize but also became the first Black President of South Africa (1995-1999). This shows how Mandela was regard as a respected global statesman
In 1998, he was married for the third time to Graça Machel. During his retirement years, he continued to work for charitable causes for children and the struggle against AIDS so that Mandela's birthday was declared "Mandela Day" to promote global peace and celebrate the South African leader's legacy.
Rolihlahla Mandela died on 5 December 2013, aged 95
The world never forgot his devotion to democracy, equality and learning and his insistence on never answered racism with racism. His life has been an inspiration to all who are oppressed and deprived.
