Hello,
would you help me please...
I've just finished an exercise about cooking and after having 20/20 I would like to leave this comment: "ça m'a donné faim", but I was wondering if I had to say "It made me to be hungry" or "Its made me have hungry" or "Its gave me hungry" or something else.
Which is the correct one?

Hello,
Votre phrase "Its made me have hungry" est presque bonne. Il suffit d'enlever le "s" de "its" et le "have" qui n'est pas utile...

Hello ,It means ( it signifies) # the meaning of it = its (possessive adjective) meaning , its significance ...
-When you have just seen somebody making a lovely meal or explaining the recipe, or somebody telling you and describing in all details what delicious meal or sweets he had somewhere ,- you can say :
-- Ah ! Just looking at you has made me (feel)hungry !
- if the description , the TV advert or the photo is superbly attractive ,
you exclaim in the following minute:
- Oh ! This has made me feel hungry . ( you shouldn't think in French and translate literally , word to word : avoir faim -= être affamé , assoiffé : to be hungry and thirsty / same thing with to be hot , warm, cold : avoir (très) chaud , (agréablement) chaud , froid .
Ce sont des états . Vous aurez donc en anglais : to be ou verbe d'état : to feel ( se sentir) , look ( paraître de l'extérieur), seem ( sembler , paraître de l'intérieur ) ...
La faim est une sensation , donc you feel hungry .
Actually , there is an informal expression : cela a l'air si bon que cela vous donne l'eau à la bouche ...
It makes my mouth water( verb) ...or watery .( adj)
