Compréhension /aide
Message de luuciaa posté le 16-11-2012 à 23:15:48 (S | E | F)
Bonsoir ,
j'ai un DM d'anglais à rendre et j'aimerais s'il vous plaît avoir une correction de mes réponses si possible en plus d'une certaine aide pour des questions.
Je vous remercie d'avance

Voici les trois textes :

1) Yesterday
The Aborigines came to Australia from Asia in prehistoric times. They were divided into 600 tribes, each with its own language and territory. The Aborigines did not cultivate the land but depended on it, being a nomad people who hunted and gathered food.
Since Captain Cook set foot in Australia in 1788 and declared it British territory, this rich heritage has often been ignored by white Australians. Unlike the US, Cananda and New Zealand, Australia never signed a treaty with its indigenous people. The white man drove the Aborigines from their lands. They were herded into reservations and forced to live off government handouts, if they weren't killed first. Moreover, thousands of Aboriginal children were taken away from their families and brought up in settlers' homes.

2) An 18, 000 years old culture
Aboriginal religion is based on a system of beliefs known as the Dreamtime. Man is part of the earth, which was created by the “dreams” of our ancestors. These dreams are myths that tell the story of every rock, stream, tree and animal. In the Dreamtime, the earth was flat and featureless until a group of giant creatures appeared from the ground and created the features of the earth. Giant kangaroos piled up rocks and dug out depressions, the Rainbow serpent created riverbeds and caterpillars made gaps in mountain ranges. These Dreamtime creatures also created man and other present-day animals before disappearing into the earth again.

3) Today
Today, the Aborigial people total 270 000, out a population of 18 million. Two thirds live in town and cities. Many others live in the outback or bush country, and some still have a traditional way of live.
A majority of them are at the bottom of the social ladder. Unemployment and poverty rates are the highest in Australia. They often live in miserable considitions, without basic services like electricity and running water and also suffer from endemic alcoholism.
However, since the 1980s, the Aborigines have brought their story and culture to public attention. The whole Australian community has finally become aware of the Aboriginal people's dreadful situation and the necessity to grant them land rights and respect their cultural traditions.
