Bonjour !!

Voilà, j'aimerais savoir comment puis-je dire i/2 ou même i/n en anglais.
Je sais dire 1/2, 3/15, ... mais avec des indices ça donne quoi ?

Pour les indices de puissance:

8 puissance 3 = 8 to the power of 3; x (à la) puissance n = x to the nth power;

You may also say: 8 power 3; x power nth.

Hello,
Well we would write 3^4 to mean 3 X 3 X 3 X 3.
5^2 is five squared.
5^3 is five cubed.
5^n is five to the power of n.

And for fractions:
1/2 = one half
1/3 = one third
1/4 = one quarter (one fourth for Americans)
1/5 = one fifth
1/n = one nth (ordinal numbers)

2/3 = two thirds
6/97 = six ninety-sevenths

Or, if you were doing maths and not talking about "Two thirds of my family are female" and doing "98/5 multiplied by 71/52" then I would say "ninety-eight over five multiplied by seventy-one over fifty-two".
