Drive on route 66/correction

Bonjour

j'ai un texte ou je dois conjuguer les verbes soit au présent , soit au passé ou soit au present perfect.
Je voudrais savoir si j'ai bon s'il vous plait .

I drove all of 66 twice , and I was on 66 west of Flagstaff quite often. Last time I went there , I have had the fright of my life. I ran out of gas and I could not find any gas station to fill up. Since then I have decided that whenever I have gone on a road trip I'll always carry a spare can of gas.

On dit toujours "Route 66" quand il s'agit de cette route historique.
