Hello!
Would you like please, to help me with these two sentences?
1)....catch the 06:30 flight to Orlando and I'll fly back up to Pittsburgh.
2) We were supposed to fly to Orlando and then drive back to Boston.
My question is:
Do you use fly back up and drive back only when youre're going northward? Is Pittsburgh at the north of Orlando?
Is Boston at the north of Orlando?
Thank you for your answers.

Hello superline08.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, so it is in the northeast, as is Boston.
Fly back up can be used for flying north, just as I might say I would like to fly down to Florida (south).
But drive back can simply mean return, regardless of direction.
Many people from my state drive cars down to Florida for people who spend the winter there, but who no longer drive long distances. Then they fly back (return) to Massachusetts.
I hope this helps.
Sherry

Hello.
The words "up" and "down" are optional and add the idea of traveling north and south respectively. (In addition to latitude, the words can be applied in their more literal sense to altitude.)
See you.
