About Plural nouns

Hello,
can you help me about how to differentiate which countable nouns are and which uncountable nouns are.
I only know that some words can be counted then are countable nouns,but some words are dizzy for me,for instance:
"Your experience are useful" I use "are" in this sentence,but to use "is" is right.
I think that "Your experience" can include many fields:life experience、work experience、study experience and so on.So I use "are"
So I need your help.Can you generalize and distinguish them?

To answer your precise question, the word experience is singular here and needs a verb in singular.
You'll say: your experience is useful.
That word may be in plural,then you'll have to use a verb in plural.

You can't generalize which nouns are countable and which are not countable. You just have to memorize them.
