Bonjour ,
Pouvez vous me dire s'il vous plaît si les verbes ci-dessous sont conjugués correctement ?
Sam : So where 'do you come from' (you come from), chrs? London itself?
Chris: No,actually i 'grew up' (grow up) in Oxford, though I 'have been' (be) here for ages now. Since I 'left' (leave) school , in fact. How about you?
Sam : Well, as you probably 'noticed' (notice) from my accent, I'm Australian. From Rock Hampton on the Queensland coast. I 'had been looking for'(look for) work in the UK straightaway. And ever since then I 'have been trying' (try) to find somewhere to leave.
Chris: where 'are you staying' (you stay) at the moment?
Sam : With frinds near Earl's Court. Theye're good people but it's a small place, and to make matters worse the flat 'is being redecorated' (redecorate) right now. We ' have just been told' (just tell) today he painters 'would finish' (finish) by the weekend, but that still 'means'(mean) sevral more days of utter chaos. The six of us 'have been living'(live) in one room since New Year.
Chris: Six! Im not surprised you 'have been trying' (try) to find a place of your own these last few weeks. 'Have you checked out' (you check out) the local small ads on the internet yet?
Sam : That's an idea. If There is anything new, it 'would be listed' (list) there first for sure.
Chris: As it happens, the other day somebody 'said' (say) he'had seen' (see) a small expensive flat to let quite near here. It 'was advertised'(advertise) last week, I think, but it's possible they 'are still trying' (still try) to rent it out.
Merci d'avance !!

bonjour,
je vous redonne les phrases qui posent souci ( ne pas oublier le pronom sujet ' I' en majuscule)
-Sam : Well, as you probably 'noticed' (notice) from my accent => le preterit n'est pas faux mais les anglophones préféreront un autre temps
-I 'had been looking for'(look for) work in the UK straightaway.
Le reste me semble correct

Hello!
On pourrait dire :
We have just been told () the painters would have finished by the weekend.
We have just been told the painters would be finished by the weekend (un peu moins poli, expression d'une certaine impatience).
NB: somewhere to live.
