Bonjour,
j'ai un devoir d’anglais sur le conditionnel, et j'aimerais bien que quelqu'un essaye de corriger mes fautes
Voici la question à laquelle je devais répondre:
If you had an occasion to spend a year in an African country like Fi to teach and help the local population, would you do it?
et voici ma réponse:
If I had an occasion to spend a year in an African country like Fi to teach and help the local population. Firstly, I would go to Ethiopia, because unlike the children of France, the children of Ethiopia are illiterates, so I would teach the reading and the handwriting. Secondly, I would teach the sport of defense, so as to could defend against the aggressor. Thirdly, I would read a novel as soon as a person will want to be amused. Finally, contrary to the France where a person who is critically ill could go to the hospital, in Ethiopia they have not this luck, consequently I would try to treat the person who are sick.
Merci d'avance pour votre aide.

voici la correction, j’espère qu'il y a moins de faute cette fois-ci, et merci pour m'avoir aider.
If I had an occasion to spend a year in an African country like Fi to teach and help the local population, firstly, I would go to Ethiopia, because unlike a France children , a Ethiopia children are illiterate, so I would teach reading and handwriting. Secondly, I would teach a sport of defense, so as to (eux la je vois pas elle est ou la faute, ca veux bien dire “de facon à”) could defend themselves against the aggressor. Thirdly, I would read a novel as soon as a person will want to be amused. Finally, contrary to France where a person who is critically ill could go to a hospital, in Ethiopia they are not lucky , consequently I would try to treat the persons who are sick.

Bonsoir,
I'm not familiar with "sport of defense"; would 'combat sport' be correct in the present context?
Regards.
Headway.

Bonsoir,
dans votre phrase, je dirais simplement: so they could protect themselves.
Bonne soirée.
