Hello,
3a → Keith joined the company 15 years ago. He was quickly promoted and became assistant manager after two years. A few years later he went on to be manager of the company.
j'aurais gardé le verbe 'become' = ...he went on to become manager...
What do you think notrepere?

Bernard02 hasn't given us any verbs in parentheses as in previous exercises. Unless the exercise specifically says (be), I agree that "to become" makes the most sense. I noticed that some sentences take the verb from the first sentence and use it in the second, but others do not. Bernard02, for #3a, is there a verb specifically specified? You wrote, "to be", why did you choose that?

Merci d'avance.

Hello:
I think the others are correct. Lucile was just paying better attention. Yes, "to become" is the right choice then if you haven't been given one to use specifically.
And I would also like to commend you for your hard work and diligence. Your exercise is not even due for quite a number of days and you started early! It is always a pleasure to help someone who is obviously a hard worker and cares about doing a good job.
Très bon travail!

Hello,
Hope it's clear

Bonjour,
Cordialement.
