Hello,
I am new in this forum. I know that the best way to learn English is to write short stories.
Please, would you like to help me to correct this short story.
Thank you very much.

The farmer and the archaeologist
Once there was an old farmer, he bought a new land to expand his farm. One day he went to his new land, while he works he found a jar. « What is this? An old and dirty jar !» He said. He throws it away and continued to plow it. Suddenly an archaeologist passed near to the farmer’s new land, the jar caught his attention « What is this? » The archaeologist said. He took the jar and examined it carefully. « Wow! This artefact is in good condition, there are no cracks, the inscriptions are clear, it belongs to ancient time, it has more than three hundred years, it is very valuable». He taught. After knowing the true value of the jar, the archaeologist appreciated it, then he turns towards the farmer and said « Hi Mr, this jar is yours ?» The farmer answered «Yes, it is ». « Would you like to sell it ?» The archaeologist asked. « Yes of course » The farmer replied. « How much is it ?» The archaeologist said. « How much do you want to pay for it ?» The farmer said. « I pay a thousand dollars for it, do you agree ? » The archaeologist said. « What ? A thousand dollars ! Yes, of course I agree », the farmer said. The farmer took the money and went home very happy, « How is stupid this man ! He bought an old and dirty jar with a thousand dollars», he taught. The archaeologist took the jar and went home smiling, « How is stupid this farmer, he sold this priceless antique with a thousand dollars », he taught.

Hello
mistakes in blue

The farmer and the archaeologist
Once there was an old farmer, he bought a new land (a new "field", or a new "piece of land" would be more undertandable) to expand his farm. One day he went to his new land (field), while he works(you need a preterit continuous) he found a jar. « What is this? An old and dirty jar !» He said. He throws (you need a preterite) it away and continued to plow it(either no object or "his field"). Suddenly an archaeologist passed near to (to pass is to go beyond. he walked along/by the farmer's new field) the farmer’s new land, the jar caught his attention « What is this? » The archaeologist said. He took the jar and examined it carefully. « Wow! This artefact is in good condition, there are no cracks, the inscriptions are clear, it belongs to ancient time, it has more than three hundred years,( this is translated French, and an archeologist would rather deal with an artifact that would be more than three thousand years old; Three hundred years is not ancient enough) it is very valuable». He taught( wrong verb, he is not teaching but saying this sentence. Use the preterite of to say). After knowing acknowledging the true value of the jar, the archaeologist appreciated it, then he turns(preterite) towards the farmer and said « Hi Mr(You use "Mr" with a surname : Goodbye Mr Chips. Mr on its own is almost an insult : Hey Mr ! Keep out of my garden or else ... ! To be polite, we use : Good morning Sir/Madam/Miss. Hi is American,Hello, good morning, good afternoon would be pore appropriate) this jar is yours (colloquial. Is this jar yours ? Does this jar belong to you ?) ?» The farmer answered «Yes, it is ». « Would you like to sell it ?» The archaeologist asked. « Yes of course » The farmer replied. « How much is it ?» The archaeologist said. « How much do you want to pay for it ?» The farmer said. « I'll pay a thousand dollars for it, do you agree ? » The archaeologist said. « What ? A thousand dollars ! Yes, of course I agree », the farmer said. The farmer took the money and went home very happy, « How is stupid this man ( correct according to this example : How tall this man is !) ! He bought an old and dirty jar with/for a thousand dollars (he paid a thousand dollars for an old and dirty jar.)», he taught(right tense, wrong verb). The archaeologist took the jar and went home smiling, « How is stupid this farmer, he sold this priceless antique with for a thousand dollars », he taught. (right tense, wrong verb)
