Bonjour,
je suis en Terminale S et j'ai un oral de 3 mn à préparer qui répond à la problématique suivante: Is equality as important for women as it is for men?
Merci par avance pour votre aide.
Today, I am going to present you the notion: the idea of progress. I will answer to the question : Is equality as important for women as it is for men? First , I will talk about the right to vote then, about inequality in the art world and finally about Gender equality.
In the 19th century, women wanted to get the right to vote. Emmeline Pankhurst was the founder of a movement called "suffragettes". But also Lilian Lenton, Mary Richardson, Charlotte Marsh and so many others we made several actions such as: smashed windows, burned down building, dropped flyers. Some women even gave themselves such a life as Emily Davison who is thrown under a horse during a race. Voting rights for women over 21 were obtained in Western territories of wyoming in 1869. 75 years later in 1944, the right to vote for women was obtained in France.
Women also fought for the equality of women, minorities, artists of color in the art world. Like guerrilla girls who is an anonymous group of female artists and took the names of deceased female artists. This group began to demonstrate in 1985 by posting posters. Their goal was to launch a poster campaign targeting museums, merchants, curators, critics and artists who, in their view, were responsible or complicit in the exclusion of women and non-white artists from exhibitions.
Gender equality is not just about women, some men approve and defend women's ideas. Like Jos Whedon, member of the group called Equality Now. Since his childhood, women have always had their place among men. So through his films, he promotes equality between men and women because his characters are women.
And also Emma Watson who is an actress who launched a campaign called HeForShe at United Nation. For her, she believes that men and women can have the same equality. During her speech, she uses simple but strong sentences such as her slogan: “If not me, Who?”, If not now, when?”
Is equality as important for women as it is for men? For a long time, the inequality between men and women exists. They sought the same rights as men. Many of those who demonstrated died before the right they defended were acquired. This inequality persists between today.

Bonsoir,
- I will answer to question : enlever "to".
- in the art world: j'utiliserai plutôt le mot" field" à la place de "world".
- But (enlever "but" car pas de contradiction mais plutôt un autre exemple) also (pas à la bonne place) Lilian Lenton,
- Some women even gave themselves such a life: some women even gave their lives or died.
- in (the)Western territories of wyoming in 1869.
- artists of color in the art world: voir plus haut.
- Like guerrilla girls who is (passé)an anonymous group of female artists and (who pas and)took the names of deceased female artists.
- This (that pas this) group began to demonstrate in 1985 by posting posters.
- Emma Watson who is an actress who (enlever who) launched a campaign
- (to conclude)Is equality as important for women as it is for men?
- Many of those who demonstrated (had)died before the right they defended were acquired.
