I hope you have noticed and appreciated the alliteration in «F»…
Some of you have already kindly « protested » that the exercises are more and more difficult. Well! I’m not really aware of that… I’m trying to find varied exercises which will make you progress and then, I’m so happily surprised by your work when I correct it, that you’d really think you had met no difficulty at all when doing it… Sorry and … please, be sure of my sincere congratulations ! What was really hard on you was that both exercises were difficult last time…

Je vous rappelle qu'« une phrase », une seule, se termine par un point [final, d'exclamation ou d'interrogation], peut avoir de la ponctuation interne ",/; /:/[...], et qu'elle doit avant tout avoir un sens.
Le but ultime est de faire une seule phrase complexe, courte (moins de 50 mots, si possible ...), mais je le répète, qui ait un sens et sa logique interne !) Cet exercice est TRES difficile, c'est pourquoi il demande beaucoup de réflexion et d'attention, de rigueur aussi dans l'application des règles. ( Beaucoup de règles, j'en suis désolée ... mais déjà comme ça, c'est énormément de travail, et sans un effort de chacun, c'est ingérable.) Et tout d'un coup, quand j'ai crû que je n'aurai plus besoin d'apprendre, j'entendis ceci!

J'ai été longtemps obsédé par l'idée que la méconnaissance du latin dans ce monde était pénalisant , et Archie Garvell avait repris ce point de vue en s’engageant de toute son âme... . Les œuvres littéraires que j'avais lues à Bladesover suivaient cette tendance. L’étude du latin m’avait apporté un effet d'émancipation que je trouvais difficile à expliquer . Et soudainement, alors que j'avais prétendu que tout savoir, constituait pour moi une fin en soi , j' entendis ce discours ::
" Ceci n'est pas bon pour toi ,évidemment "avait dit mon oncle " sauf à réussir tes examens , mais les faits sont là….
" vous devrez apprendre le latin parce que vous devez apprendre le latin " rétorquait ma mère," non pas parce que vous le voulez .Et, par la suite ,vous devrez apprendre toutes sortes d'autres choses ....".
c’est alors que je pris conscience que l’idée que je devais continuer à étudier, que de lire et maîtriser le contenu de livres devait être reconnue comme une obliigation qui s’imposait magistralement sur toutes les autres conceptions d’aborder ce sujet.
