First ou firstly/choix

Hello,
Je cherche à comprendre pourquoi on traduit "premièrement/initialement" par de temps en temps first et des fois firstly.
Est-ce qu'il y a une subtilité de sens pour les anglophones ?
voici ces exemples de phrase :
First, I would like to thank you all for coming.
Firstly, we will begin with a brief presentation.

Thanks in advance !

Hello,
Firstly est un adverbe et introduit une énumération d'actions.
First est un déterminant ou un adjectif signifiant le 1er, le plus important ou le meilleur.
First, I would like to thank you all for coming....n'est donc pas très correct; l'emploi de 'To begin with' ou 'at first' serait plus adapté.
Firstly, we will begin with a brief presentation....est nettement mieux.

I would use "First, I would like to thank you all for coming..." depending on the audience in front of me, of course... and just because I'm less formal than Dear Lucile!
